Thaw period: important reminder to heavy vehicle users and shippers with shipments to or from Quebec

Each spring, the ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable has determined thaw periods when the loads of heavy vehicles using the Quebec road network must be reduced.

To minimize the damage caused to the pavement which is weakened during this period, the restrictions are determined for the three thawing zones that the Quebec territory counts.

For the year 2024, here are the load restriction periods for each of the spring thaw zones

• Zone 1: From Monday, March 18^th (00:01) to Friday, May 10^th (23:59)
• Zone 2: From Monday, March 25^th (00:01) to Friday, May 17^th (23:59)
• Zone 3: From Monday, April 1^st (00:01) to Friday, May 24^th (23:59)

 Depending on weather conditions, the start and end dates are subject to change. We will keep you posted on any modifications.
