In 2022, the Port of Montreal handled 36 million tons of cargo, representing a 5.8% increase compared to 2021.
Truck traffic also increased, with an average of 1827 trucks daily and a 10 % improved processing time since 2017.
The economic recovery following COVID-19 has allowed for renewed growth, with sectors on the rise such as liquid bulk and solid bulk.
Several major infrastructure projects also progressed in 2022, such as the expansion of the Contrecœur container terminal and the Viau sector overpass.
