We are very concerned by the current congestion at the Port of Halifax, resulting of the strike at the Port of Montreal. During this period over 15,000 containers were diverted to the Port of Halifax, with ship owners wishing to unload their ships in anticipation of long-term conflict.

For the past two weeks, these containers have now been redirected to the Montreal rail terminal at a volume of 300 40 ’containers per day. A minimal number versus the expectations of our clients. Please note that our team is doing everything in its power to obtain as much information as possible to offer you alternative solutions. This is very frustrating for all of us.

At this point in time, the ship owners and management of the Port of Halifax are limiting the measures that will be put in place to deal with this backlog. Our team is closely monitoring the situation and will inform you as soon as possible.

Do not hesitate to contact us by phone at 866-977-9343 or by email at if you have any questions or need more information about the situation.
