To our community and users of heavy vehicles with shipments coming to or from Quebec : “MTQ (Le Ministère du transport du Québec)” reminds you that the authorized load limits are reduced during the thaw period in the following three thaw zones: Zone 1 covers southern Quebec, including Montreal, Gatineau, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières, Quebec City and as far as Rivière-du-Loup. Zone 2 includes the Laurentians, Témiscamingue, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Côte-Nord, Rimouski, Gaspésie and Îles-de-la-Madeleine. Zone 3 covers Abitibi, Chibougamau-Chapais and the Ashuapmushuan Wildlife Reserve.

Kindly note that the expected starting dates of the load restriction period for each of the spring thaw zones are as follows :

-Zone 1 : From Monday March 8 (00:01) to Friday May 7 (23:59)
-Zone 2 : From Monday, March 15 (00:01) to Friday, May 14 (23:59)
-Zone 3 : From Monday, March 22 (00:01) to Friday, May 21 (23:59)

However, the start and end dates of the restriction period introduced by the Quebec government may be advanced or delayed depending on changing weather conditions. The AP team will keep you informed of any possible changes.
