Please be advised that a new Ministerial Order has been issued by the Minister of Transport ordering safety measures to prevent wildfires on the railroads in British Columbia.

The order now requires the two major railroad operators, Canadian Pacific (CP) and Canadian National (CN), to reduce the speed of their trains when the air temperature is 30°C or above. This new measure, effective from July 11th, 2021 to October 31st, 2021, will bring the wildfires situation in Western Canada under control during the upcoming months.

Please note that the anchorage demand at the Port of Vancouver continues to be high due to the rail impacts on terminal operations.

Our team will keep you posted as the situation evolves.
