During this summer, the roadways of the Pierre Laporte Bridge will undergo a major repair. The work, which will be carried out by the Ministère des transports du Québec (MTQ), will serve, among other things, to replace the bridge’s waterproofing membrane, which has worn out prematurely, and to ensure the durability of the bridge structure. The Pierre Laporte Bridge is an important road link in the greater Quebec City region.
The repairs, which will be carried out over two periods, will take place 24 hours a day and will have a maximum duration of 10 consecutive days from June 27th to July 7th and from August 8th to August 18th, 2021. Please note that scheduled dates may change due to weather conditions or operational constraints.
Only one lane will be accessible in each direction during these repairs. These restrictions will have a major impact on traffic and heavy congestion is expected on both sides of the Pierre Laporte and Quebec bridges.
