The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) announced that the International Roadcheck has been postponed and will now take place from September 9th to September 11th due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The International Roadcheck is an annual initiative put in place to ensure the safety of road users across North America. During this 72 hour time period, certified CVSA’s inspectors will conduct roadside inspections of commercial vehicles in Canada, USA and Mexico to verify that motor carriers comply with the federal regulations put in place. Severe consequences such as decommissioning could result if motor carriers do not comply with the law.

This year, the focus will be on compliance with the driver’s documents (valid driver’s licence, daily inspection report of the driver’s vehicle, electronic logbook, etc). The CVSA wants to remind motor carriers of the importance of vehicle maintenance and complying with current regulations.
